Principal Conductor of the Landestheater Klagenfurt




In 1985, Guido Mancusi founded the Barockensemble Vindobona, which over a ten-year period performed regular concerts, concentrating on the baroque and classical repertoire. His early engagements as music director took him to the Stadttheater St. Pölten, the Opera Houses in Graz and Kiel, the VereinigtenBühnen Wien and the LandestheaterCoburg. After serving as assistant to Riccardo Muti at La Scala in Milan and to Adam Fischer at the Bayreuth Festival, he conducted premieres at the Vienna Volksoper and the Vienna Kammeroper. 


In 1991, he was given the Mozart Medal for distinguished Mozart interpretation of a Symphony. Since 1999, he has been a permanent guest conductor of the Slovakian Philharmonic Orchestra, the Budapest Concert Orchestra, the Wiener Salonorchester and the OrquestaSinfónica de Castilla y León. He worked for several times as conductor of the Tonkünstler Orchester Niederösterreich at the Musikverein Wien. Guest conductor appearances have taken him to England (Consort of Ancient Music London), Argentina, Japan and the USA (The New York Baroque Players). Guido was invited to conduct premieres at the Vienna Chamber Opera, the Schauspielhaus Vienna, the Klagenfurt Theatre, the Opera Houses in Erfurt, Rome and the New Israeli Opera in Tel Aviv. Invitations to concerts in Copenhagen, Stockholm, Helsinki, Toronto, Ljubiana and Moscow followed. Guido Mancusi also served as principal conductor of the Landestheater Klagenfurt. At present, Mancusi is a free lancing concert conductor with invitations to Warsaw, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Athens, Thessaloniki, Baltimore and Washington.
