Professor Markus Obereder

Markus Obereder studied choral and orchestra conducting as well as musical education at Mozarteum in Salzburg and at Louisiana State University (USA). He currently teaches at the Mozarteum. He is the Director of the Orchestra of the Music High School Salzburg and frequently tours through different countries. He worked with famous music personalities such as Bobby McFerrin, Ivor Bolton, Leopold Hager, Benjamin Schmid, RadovanVlatkovic and conducted various orchestras and choirs such as the Mozarteumorchester, the Austrian Ensemble for New Music and the SalzburgerBachchor. His choirs won several choir competitions such as the International Youth Choir Competition in Celje (Slovenia) 2004, the International Schubert Choir Competition in Vienna 2005 and the Austria Cantat in Graz 2006. His girls' choir was one of the finalists of the EBU competition "Let the people sing" in Wuppertal 2007.
