The Online Events
(May22nd – June 12th, 2021)
A series of online events will give opportunities for the choirs to participate, e.g. the cloud opening ceremony, the peace concerts on cloud, the online choral competition and Grand Prix, the prize award ceremony etc. All these will happen online in May and June 2021.

Workshops::
To support the development of the choirs, the world renown choral experts will give a series of workshops and expertise (in form of video recordings). These workshops (video lessons) can be watched free of charge on the website of the festival.
Celebration
All choirs are welcome to join in the “Celebration” (non-competitive) category of the festival! During the online events, video clips of the choirs will be shown to the audience. The concerts on cloud provide the excellent chance to show your artistic achievement and the culture of your nation to the world.
Competition and Grand Prix:
Even competition is not the ultimate goal of the festival, but to encourage further development of the choirs and their members, the festival provides an open and fair chance for choirs to participate at the competition. The jury consists of world well-known choral conductors and experts. Choirs participating in the Competition and Grand Prix should follow the rules and conditions described below:
1. The Competition Categories:
According to the age of the members of the choir, there are the following categories

Category 6 | Mixed Adult Choir | 19-55 | members of the choir should be between 19 and 55 years old |
Category 7 | Senior Choir | >55 | members of the choir should be more than 55year old |
Category 8 | Chamber Choir | - | no age limit, less than 20 singers in a choir |
Category 9 | Vocal Ensemble (including a cappella, pop music and jazz) | - | no age limit |
Category 10 | Folklore Ensemble | - | no age limit |
Category 11 | Mixed Choir (children to seniors) | - | no age limit |
Notice: choirs must meet the age requirements. Max. 10% of the singers of each choir is allowed to exceed the age limit.
2. The Competition:
Each choir can apply for 1 or 2 categories at the competition.
In each category, the prizes of Gold, Silver, Bronze and Recognition will be awarded.
The choir which wins the first place Gold prize of its category will get the right to enter into the Grand Prix competition.
3. The Grand Prix:
The choirs entering the Grand Prix have to submit its video (+audio) clips which has not been used and showed at the normal competition above. For more details and requirement please have a look in chapters bellow.
4. Repertoire Requirements:
1) Repertoire for the competition: a song of free choice, duration less than 6min.
2) Repertoire for the Grand Prix:

3) Information about the songs (title, length, music scores, short introduction about the content, name of composer, text writer, copyrights owner, etc.) must be sent to the Festival Organizer in advance.
4) Choirs may perform a cappella or with accompaniment (with acoustic instruments, NO computerized sound effects).
5) Choirs may be accompanied by traditional instruments of their own origin.
6) Playback is not allowed.
7) National costumes are greatly recommended.
5. Video requirements:
1) The video (+audio) clips for the normal competition categories must have been recorded after September 1st, 2019.
2) The video (+audio) clips for the Grand Prix must have been recorded after Jan. 1st, 2020. The video clips can be live at concerts or rehearsals.
3) The video clips must be owned by the choir itself which therefore holds the rights, recorded without any audio post-production.
4) The video clips are required in MP4/RMVB with the resolution of 720p and above. The aspect ratio shall be 16:9. The total size shall be less than 2G. Please do not add watermarks, subtitles, etc. to the video clips.
5) The video clip should be in a running-through sequence, without any interruption or break during the singing from the beginning to the end. The conductor and the pianist must appear in the video clips.
6) For the Grand Prix, the choir is welcomed to make announcement before its performance, like:
- Announcement of the name of the choir;
- Motto of the Choral Festival: Coming together to sing, singing for a better future;
- Short introduction about the song.
6. The jury:
The members of the jury consist of world well-known choral conductors and experts. The decision of the jury shall be deemed final.
7. Evaluation of the choral achievement:
The jury will use system of 30 points and judge according to following rules:

Basic skills: speed, beat, rhythm, dynamics, intonation (horizontal, vertical), the accuracy of various expression marks, and the clarity of language etc. | 10 points |
Vocal technique (tone production, diction, balance and overall) | 10 points |
Artistic overall impression (the sense of structure, rhythm and proportion on artistic expression, the integrity and attraction of the program, etc.) | 10 points |

8. Awards:
In each category, the prizes of Gold, Silver, Bronze and Recognition will be awarded.

Special awards in relation to special outstanding performance and quality of the choir, its conductor, pianist etc. could be awarded, based on the decision of the artistic committee.
9. Prize for the Grand-Prix:
3,000 Euro for the 1st place winner of the "Grand-Prix";
2,000 Euro for the 2nd place winner of the "Grand-Prix";
1,000 Euro for the 3rd place winner of the "Grand-Prix";
10.Intellectual Property Rights:
Choirs must own the audio, video and photographic rights which are provided to the festival. The Festival Organizer can use these materials free of charge for promotional purpose relating to the festival. Choirs and their members agree that the Festival Organizer has the rights to publish their name, image, and recording etc. for promotion and publicity.
11. Application procedure:
In order to be considered for participation in the festival, choirs are required to submit an application including the following:
1. The application form, completed in its entirety;
2. A short biography of the choir, including the choir's history and other items of interest;
3. A color photo of the choir;
4. A color photo of the choir's conductor;
5. The Curriculum Vitae or brief resume of the choir's conductor;
6. The Video clips for participation at the competition;

The video clips have to be sent via www.wetransfer.com or similar software;
After receiving all required documents, the Festival Committee will evaluate and send the decision to the choir accordingly.
* Please note that the application materials will not be returned.
12. Deadline for application:
For participating at the normal competition: May 10th 2021
For participating at the Grand Prix: May 31st 2021
13. Entry Fee:
Eur300.-- for the 1st category chosen by the choir;
Eur200.-- for the 2nd category chosen by the choir;
Eur15.-- for each choir members;
Free of charge for conductor and pianist;
Note: paid to the appointed bank account, all banking charges shall be borne by the choir.
14. Others:
1. All application materials will not be returned.
2. The Festival Organizer reserves the right to refuse any entry.
3. The Festival Organizer reserves the right to alter the timetable and activities according to the number of choirs participating in the festival.
4. All decisions made by the Festival Organizer shall be deemed final.
5. No musical work shall be performed or sung without the license of the copyright owner, and all such licenses shall be obtained by the choir itself. The choir shall indemnify the Festival Organizer against any infringement of copyright that may occur.
6. Participation in the Festival implies acceptance of all the rules and regulations.
