About Vienna

Vienna is one of the most vibrant cities of Europe. It is rich of history and architectural variety. Vienna stands for classical music and for such renowned composers like Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Johann Strauss. Vienna is also related to the Habsburgs, the once imperial Family of Austria and to Empress Elisabeth better known as Sisi. The city has a lively art scene and lots of culinary highlights.

Exploring Vienna means to dive into great cultural diversity while visiting historic sites and cultural attractions. The city center is surrounded by the so called Ring, a grand boulevard where during the 19th Century, lots of opulent private and public buildings were erected. Some of the most notable are the Vienna State Opera, the twin buildings of the Museums of Natural History and Art History as well as the Austrian Parliament and the University of Vienna.

St. Stephen's Cathedral is the best known landmark of Vienna. It lies in the heart of the city and is surrounded by Kärntnerstraße and Graben, Vienna's top address pedestrian zone with many shopping opportunities. Follow Graben and Kohlmarkt right to Hofburg Palace. That's where the imperial family had her winter residence. The Sisi Museum informs its visitors about the life and death of Austria's most famous empress. The Imperial Apartments' exhibition gives an impression of how the daily life of an emperor and his family was like. Schönbrunn Palace with its beautiful palace grounds served as summer residence of the emperor. It lies on the outskirts of Vienna and is worth a visit.

Don't miss going to Prater Amusement Park (Wurstelprater) with all its rides and attractions. Treat yourself with a ride on the famous giant wheel and tasty "langos" which can be bought from every marked stand.

At Naschmarkt, you get fresh ingredients and delicious food. Kitchens from almost all around the world are represented at Naschmarkt.

Whether strolling down the historical streets and alleys, shopping, relaxing in one of Vienna's many public parks, or exploring the imperial past of the city, a stay in Vienna is always a great experience with unforgettable memories and impressions.
