The Opening Ceremony in the City Hall

The Fourth World Peace Choral Festival opened in Vienna, Austria on July 29th, 2013 (local time). The youth and children's choirs from all over the world got together in Vienna-the music capital of the world at the call of the slogan "Coming together to sing, Singing for a better future". They gathered solemnly in Vienna City Hall to celebrate the opening of the Fourth World Peace Choral Festival.

As scheduled, the grand opening ceremony of the festival was held at 15:30. The youth choirs received extraordinary hospitality from Vienna municipal government. Ernst Woller, the representative of the mayor of Vienna, Gerald Wirth, the president of the World Peace Choral Festival arts committee, and Prof. Brigitte Weißengruber, music education director of Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, the Arts and Culture gave welcome speeches respectively to all the choirs participating in the festival in the Arkadenhof chamber of Vienna City Hall. The choirs felt so amiable and proud of the warm reception from city officials.

Then, choirs from all over the world made their appearance one by one. Their distinctive performances, including the traditional Chinese songs, the western classic melody and the special Southeast Asia amorous feelings, as well as their innocent faces gained great praise from all the guests of all circles. The audience was deeply impressed by the choirs and they benefited a lot from their excellent performances.

The opening ceremony ended in the atmosphere of joy and excitement. Everyone is looking forward to a better performance in the next few days' activities. In the meantime, the naïve children have made new friends through today's activity, and in the next four days, they will make joint learning and performances to deepen mutual understanding and friendship.
